Classes are a learning space with the intention of reviving embodied curiosity and awareness.
The 5Rhythms practice understands movement as medicine, meditation, and metaphor.
The 5Rhythms teaches 5 basic movement patterns as the basis for endless somatic exploration. The patterns: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness are rhythmic gateways into archetypal realms of body, heart, mind, soul, and spirit. Sequenced together they create an integrative movement cycle, a 5Rhythm Wave.
The discipline of the 5Rhythms method returns again and again to the intelligence of this patterned cycle moving through the body.
A combination of music, instruction, somatic inquiry and periods of open dance structure classes.
Movement experiments, and invitations are offered for participants to try on and explore in their own body's way.
Invitations can include dancing alone, in partnerships, groups, or community.
The music and pace start slow, build up to a peak intensity and settle back into a still point.
If you are looking for a fully free space with no guidance, this is likely not a good fit.
ALL ADULT BODIES OF ANY RACE, GENDER IDENTITY, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RELIGION, SIZE, DISABILITY OR ABILITY, ARE WELCOME.
( Children under 17 and Pets cannot be accommodated.

This class focuses on using discipline to find freedom. It is community-focused, welcoming participants of all experience levels, bodies and identities. We practice the 5Rhythms and other somatic techniques to expand and evolve our embodiment.
The service begins with an open warm-up to help all settle in, tend to their bodies and orient. This is followed by an introduction to the practice and class focus by the instructor. Together, the group follows a 5Rhythm Wave—a cycle of movement and music that begins slow, builds in intensity, peaks, lightens, and then settles. Through verbal instructions, participants are invited to explore, in their own bodies way - a variety of movement patterns, physical inquiries, and focal points.
Invitations may include moving with partners or in groups.
This is a full participation experience, with encouragement to adapt instructions to your own abilities and capacities. Full page of info + Class Registration Required here
